A Journey Through History from
its Beginnings to the Present
In the early years, Boerne faced numerous challenges, including clashes with Native American tribes and the harshness of the Texas frontier. However, the resilience and determination of its settlers allowed the town to prosper. Agriculture, particularly farming and ranching, played a significant role in the town’s development, with crops such as corn, cotton, and tobacco becoming staples of the local economy.
The arrival of the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway in 1887 marked a turning point in Boerne‘s history. The railway facilitated trade and transportation, connecting Boerne to other major cities and opening doors for economic growth. As a result, businesses flourished, and the population grew.
